All of our reccommendations are based on experience with CEOs and other upper level decision makers within
hospitals.
General Guidelines
- Always use a consistent format in terms of font, spacing and verbage usage.
- Bullet key points or accomplishments under each main job heading vs. using a narrative/paragraph style - this will help with readability
and make your accomplishments stand out.
- White Space is not to be completly avoided. It should be used to avoid clutter.
- Number each page and include your name with each page.
- There should be no gaps in your timeline. If there are, do you best to concisely explain them.
- Use a professional type, such as Times New Roman - The font should be readable –
No smaller than 10 and no larger than 14.
- Make Sure All Information is Truthful and Accurate to the best of your ability.
- Proof Read, Proof Read, Proof Read - have it reviewed by someone else.
Your Resume will act as your application for the position and all good applications
should consist of the following items
generally in this order:
Cover Letter
This should be included as a seperate document and is meant to be your introduction statement.
Objective Statement
Work Experience / Positions Held (Most Recent is always listed 1st) This information should make up the bulk of the resume and each position should contain the
following items:
- Facility Name
- Location
- Duration
Always include month/year started and month/year ended
- Title
- Bulleted Accomplishments
Education
(Most Recent First – Include Name of School, Location, Degree(s), and Dates) - This should be as detailed as possible:
- Graduate Degrees
- Undergraduate
- Post Graduate Training/Certifications (Type, Location, Dates)
Additional Pertinant Information:
- Professional Organizations
- Honors and Publications
- Hobbies, Interests
References
- Do not necessarily need to accompany your Resume initially but be prepared to provide this document.
- Four Professional References is a good number to provide - Include Current Phone Numbers and Positions.
- Make Certain All References Are Aware You Are Listing Them.
